Aqua’aba foundation offers a swimming program aimed at teaching disadvantaged kids in Accra how to swim. In Ghana, swimming lessons aren't free, widely available or part of a standard childhood routine. In Accra, a coastal city, the majority of children grow up without learning how to swim. This is especially dangerous as many kids play at the beach but lack the skills to swim if caught by a wave.

Aqua’aba foundation wants to ensure that swimming is free of charge for children. Once learnt, swimming is a skill for life and has many health benefits.

Aqua’aba foundation aims to keep children from the street and provide a safe and meaningful after school-activity and support system.

WHAT WE DO>

The Aqua'aba Foundation focuses on financially underprivileged children in Ghana, offering them valuable swimming lessons. This life-skill provides empowerment, health benefits, and significantly reduces the risk of drowning. Currently, 25 active participants benefit from the foundation's program, receiving dedicated care and attention during their involvement. The program not only imparts a vital life skill but also serves as a meaningful after-school activity, effectively keeping these children away from the streets.
